PURPOSE:To obtain a toner having superior fixability and anti-offsetting property by suspension-polymerizing a polymerizable monomer contg. a colorant and an electrostatic charge controlling agent in the presence of a macromonomer soluble in the polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:A polymerizable monomer contg. a colorant and an electrostatic charge controlling agent is suspension-polymerized in the presence of a macromonomer to obtain a toner having 3-15mum number average particle size and 15-45% coefft. (y) of variation of particle size defined by equation I, wherein s is the standard deviation (mum) of particle size-number distribution and x is number average particle size (mum). The macromonomer used is preferably a macromonomer practically soluble in the polymerizable monomer but practically insoluble in water. The resulting toner for developing an electrostatic charge image has superior anti-offsetting property and fixability. |
