PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of a error at the time of compiling a source program generated based on a program flow chart data base by interlocking a program flow chart and table specifications. CONSTITUTION:A table specification editing means 2 interactively edits and updates table specifications in a table specification storage means 3. A program flow chart editing means 1 compares table design information in table specifications updated by the table specification editing means 2 and the table design information of table specification information in a program flow chart storage means 4 with each other. When both table design information corresponding to each other is in discordance, variable names or the like related to discordance in the program flow chart in the program flow chart storage means 4 are automatically retrieved and reported to a user for the purpose of prompting him to correct the program flow chart, and information in the program flow chart storage means 4 is so updated that discordance is resolved. Thus, the occurrence of error at the time of compiling the source program is suppressed.
