PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having stable durability for a long time by constituting a transparent dielectric layer of two layers in a manner that a first specified dielectric layer is laminated on a substrate and then a second transparent dielectric layer containing no oxygen is laminated on the recording layer side of the first dielectric layer. CONSTITUTION:The optical recording medium consists of a substrate 1, transparent dielectric layer 2, and recording layer 3. The transparent dielectric layer 2 consists of two layers 2a, 2b. The layer 2a provided on the substrate comprises nitroxide of at least one of In and Sn, or nitroxide of Bi and at least one of In and Sn. The layer 2b comprises transparent dielectric material containing no oxygen and is provided on the recording layer side of the layer 2a. By constituting the dielectric layer of two layers in a manner that nitroxide or oxide is provided on the substrate while oxygen-free nitride or sulfide is used for the recording layer side, no crack or peeling is caused in the obtd. medium in an environment test at high temp. and high humidity. The obtd. medium has excellent durability without deterioration of C/N. |
