DEODORIZATION OF INTERIOR OF REFRIGERATING COLD STORAGE CHAMBER

PURPOSE:To permit a stable and efficient deodorization over an extended period of time by a method wherein an ozonizer and an odor component adsorbing catalyst are provided in a circulating passage and the odor components are treated by the two stage process of adsorbing the odor components and resolving the same with ozone. CONSTITUTION:The catalysts 1 having both an odor component adsorbing and an ozone resolving power are provided, one above and the other below an ozonizer 2. To deodorize the inside of a cold storage chamber, a cooled air circulating fan 5 is first turned on and the ozonizer 2 is then turned off. At this time, the air from a refrigerating room 6 is partially brought into contact with the catalyst 1 in order for the odor components contained therein to be adsorbed on the catalyst 1 and then sent into a cold storage room 7. The cooled air circulating fan 5 is thereafter turned off and the ozonizer 2 is turned on in order for the odor components adsorbed on the catalyst 1 to be resolved by ozone for removal, whereby the adsorbing power thereof is returned to its original state. This permits a deodorizing effect to be obtained over an extended period of time.
