At the initial stage of polyester polymerization, the formular (I) [R1 is alkyl or hydroxy alkyl; M is alkali metal as a modifying agent and 3.0-7.0 wt.% polyethylene glycol, having the molecalar weight of 500-2000 are added in the initial stage of ester or ester exchange reaction. After completing the above reaction, further condensation is continued until proper amt. of ethylene glycol is retrieved. Then the formula (II) [R2 is alkyl or hydroxy alkyl as a modifying agent is added to the process. The condensation is carried out while reducing pressure under 1mmHg. The completed process results in producing cation-dyeable polyester fiber.
