PURPOSE:To obtain the stable characteristic of electromotive force for a long time by connecting the exposed surface of a piece of solid sodium carbonate and the exposed surface of a piece of solid electrolyte and, remarkably reducing the generation of a drift with time. CONSTITUTION:A piece 11 of Na2Co3 which is a pressurized molding or sintered body of Na2Co3 is used. A metallic electrode 12 and a lead 13 are provided at one side of the Na2Co3 piece 11, thereby forming an anode. On the other hand, a metallic electrode 15 and a lead 16 are provided at one side of a sodium ion conductive solid electrolyte 14 such as NASICON etc., thereby forming a cathode. The ion conductivity between the piece 11 and electrolyte 14 is secured by connecting the exposed surfaces of the piece 11 and electrolyte 14. Accordingly, a drift of the electromotive force with time is remarkably reduced and therefore the stable characteristic of the electromotive force can be obtained for a long time. |
