Blind rivet having a secondary head which is easy to form. The body 2 of the rivet has two or three cuts in the shape of equidistant and parallel twists terminating a certain distance from the collar (flange) 3 of the rivet and from the open end 14 of the rivet so that during fastening the body of the rivet divides (splits) in the region of the cuts 6 thus creating deformed zones in the shape of corkscrew twists or helices which project outwards. These zones, in the form of petals or helices, constitute a widened secondary head on the rivet. <IMAGE>
