PURPOSE:To calculate a transfer rate and to correct a transfer condition by detecting the density of a pattern before transfer and a toner pattern image formed on a dielectric sheet. CONSTITUTION:The toner pattern image is formed on a photosensitive body 1 from a pattern 15 of the reference density. This image is tranferred onto the dielectric sheet of a transfer drum 5 by a transfer charger 7. The toner pattern image formed on the photosensitive body 1 is passed through a transfer position in the state of turning OFF the charger 7 and the amount of toner to be sticked is detected by a P sensor 16. After transferring the toner image to a sheet 12, the toner in one part is remained on the photosensitive body 1 and after impressing a transfer electric field, the amount of the sticked toner in a remained toner image 18 is detected by a sensor 16. The transfer rate is calculated from the above mentioned amount of the sticked toner and the output of the transfer charger is corrected as needed. |
