PURPOSE:To eliminate the error in arrangement extending to a wide range of filter layers and to suppress unequal colors as well as to enhance display quality by etching the black layers on transparent electrodes and forming filter layers on the surfaces of the transparent electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The transparent electrode 2 is formed at a uniform film thickness on a transparent substrate 1 and a black layer 3 is formed on the electrode 2. After a resist 5 is formed over the entire surface, the layer 3 is removed to form recesses 5a exposing the electrodes 2 in the positions to be formed with the filter layers 4 indicating the 1st color among the colors required for color display, by which the 1st color filter layers 4 are formed. The 2nd and 3rd color filter layers are similarly formed. After the formation of the filter layers 4 of the respective colors ends in such a manner, the resist 5 is removed and the filter layers 4 are heated and regularly cured. The color filter is thus obtd. |
