PURPOSE:To make a spot welding gun lightweight and compact by constituting a pivot which supports pivotally a pair of gun arms of an axial power feed unit superposed on the concentrical part so that said part serves commonly to pro- vide electrical connection and mechanical rotation to the welding gun. CONSTITUTION:A spot welding gun performs welding by fixing one gun arm 4 to a welding transformer 1, supporting pivotally the other gun arm 3 with a pivot part 5, turning the arms via a piston rod 7 and a link 8 by the actuation of a pressing cylinder 6, grasping materials to be welded (not shown) between electrode chips 9 and 10 and welding said materials. The pivot part 5 housed in a casing 37 of the above-mentioned spot welding gun is constituted of a power feed pivot 18 secured with the arm 4 and a power feed bushing 21 fitted into said pivot via an insulating body (not shown). The arm 3 is secured by means of a piece end 3a to the bushing 21. The power feed system constituted in such a way consists of the transformer 1, an output terminal 1a, a power feed bar 24, a contactor 30 the pivot 18 the arm 4 the chip 10 the chip 9, the arm 3, the end 3a, the bushing 21, a contactor 29, a power feed arm 23, and a terminal 1b in order. |
