PURPOSE:To facilitate control by obtaining a relational expression between electromotive force in the known sampling furnace atmosphere, which is measured by using an oxygen potentiometer based on the principle of oxygen concentration cell, and the theoretical electromotive force in this furnace atmosphere, comparing these with each other and controlling carbon potential in the furnace atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The sampling furnace atmosphere with known characteristics is measured by using the oxygen potentiometer for detecting oxygen partial pressure based on the electromotive force with the principle of oxygen concentration cell, and this outputted electromotive force is obtd. as the outputted EMF. The relational expression between this outputted EMF and the theoretical EMF is obtd. Successively, by measuring the furnace atmosphere in the actual operation, the actual measured EMF is obtd. and also by using the above relational expression, the actual measured EMF is compared with the aimed furnace atmospheric characteristic. Further, based on this compared result, the carbon potential in the furnace atmosphere is controlled. |
