The system is designed for recognising the contents of coded messages transmitted by transmitting beacons (MA, MB), situated at the verge of a traffic route (3), intended for a receiver device (4) placed in a motor vehicle (VA, VB) travelling on the route (3). A first beacon (MA) is designed to transmit a first message indicative of a datum value which has to be applied by a vehicle (VA) which comprises a receiver device (4) designed to validate this first message after reception of a second message transmitted by a second beacon (MB).
