PURPOSE:To obtain an image signal with a superior S/N or an image signal capable of extracting part of an image by providing one image reading part which obtains the image signal by reading stimulated phosphorescence light emitted from an accumulable phosphor belt. CONSTITUTION:The device is comprised in such a way that one image reading part is provided for the accumulable phosphor belt 25 of endless belt shape and radiant image information stored and recorded on the accumulative type fluorescent belt 25 is read. Therefore, it is possible to perform registration processing and subtraction processing with remarkable simple constitution. In such a way, since a radiant image with higher S/N i.e. higher detecting resolution can be formed when the registration processing is performed, and the radiant image from which only specific structure is extracted when energy subtraction processing is performed with simple constitution, advantages for the prevention of an erroneous diagnosis or the detection of a defect part in its early stages can be obtained.
