Damping pitching motion of yacht - involves elastically flexible float attached to stern end of keel

The device is used for damping the pitching motion of a sailing or engine driven yacht (1). The yacht is of the type which is fitted with a keel (2) and the damping device is in the form of a float or flap (3) attached to the stern end of the keel. The float or flap is elastically flexible and in addition to damping the pitching motion it converts some of: the energy of the pitching motion to aid the propulsion of the yacht. The device acts automatically and needs no external power to drive it. USE - Yacht with device to reduce pitching in rough seas.
