Process is described for recovery of cleaning solvent, in particular toluol contg. rubber particles. The solvent is evaporated in a solvent reservoir housed in a closed chamber with an inert atmosphere and then condensed. Process equipment comprises a closed chamber contg. a solvent reservoir which is indirectly heated by a heat exchanger pipe system. A condenser is attached to the closed chamber. USE/ADVANTAGE - For recovery of washing solvent, partic. toluol, used in cleaning of rubber processing machinery. The process avoids the use of wasteful, expensive high temp. incineration.
