Sewage sludge composting plant - with mixer for sludge and additives supplied to individual reactor cells and recycled if required

A plant to convert sewage sludge, mixed with additives, to compact, consists of several vertical reactor cells, each with its own discharge mechanism on to a reversible conveyor which can either take the material to a conveyor for the finished compost or to a mixer. The mixer feeds a bucket elevator so that the mixt. can be recycled by a distributor to any of the reactor cells. The mixer can also be charged with the contents of a silo for additives or of a silo for sewage sludge. This requires only plain reactor cells and can be easily expanded for increased throughput. The charges of the reactor cells can be treated in suited variations of the composting process.
