RECTANGULAR LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY

摘要

PURPOSE:To enhance the charge and discharge cycle characteristic of a rectangular lithium secondary battery by using lithium loads on both outermost sides of a group of mutually opposed plural electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:Lithium negative electrodes 3 are used on both of the outermost sides of a group of electrode plates of a battery which consist of plural positive electrodes 1 and plural lithium negative electrodes 3 opposite to the plural positive electrodes 1, and an organic electrolyte. When negative electrodes 3 are located on the outermost sides of the group of electrode plates the inside face of each negative electrode 3 is utterly the same as when negative electrodes 3 located at the center portion of the group are opposite to the negative electrodes 1, and therefore the current density is equal in both cases. Since the negative electrodes 1 do not exist on the outside of the negative electrodes 3, no current flows and so there is no problem at all. Generation of dendrite is thus restrained and the charge and discharge cycle characteristic of the battery can be enhanced.
