The door handle comprises a metallic carrier (1) fitted with a grip cover (6), or grip rail made of plastics. The coupling between the carrier (1) and the grip cover (6) or grip rail is provided by fixing lugs (5) which have serrated side edge (5a), integral with one component, fitting into corresp. pockets in the other component. The walls of each pocket are made of a material which exhibits a permanent deformation upon insertion of the serrated lug (5), to form a permanent coupling between the grip cover (6) or grip rail and the carrier (1). Pref. the grip cover (6) or grip cover and the carrier (1) have planar facing surfaces. ADVANTAGE - Simple mfr.
