The primary (1) and secondary (2) windings of a mains transformer are separated by layers of insulation between which a combined magnetic and electric screen is interposed. The screen is mfd. from materials of relatively high permeability such as ferrites, bonded iron powders or magnetic glass which perform effectively at frequencies high enough to suppress the coupling of high frequency interference to the transformer output.
