Automatic rear-view mirror - has reversible motor driving screwed spindle extending inner housing with reflector-adjusting motors

The automatic vehicle-rear-view mirror has an outer housing (10) fixed inside the bodywork. A direct-current reversible motor provides the drive to left and right and is fixed inside the closed end of the housing, driving by small pulley (12) and belt (18) a large one (17) on a screwed spindle (17). The latter works in a bearing (14) on the outer housing sidewall and passes through SUOFlin Wll (1 QXgin OWnWr ingi th ClOd housing end. Guide bars (19) at either side of the spindle are fixed at the end to the supporting wall. An inner housing (30) sliding in the outer one has a front glass pane (31), a tapped bush (32) in a sidewall for the spindle, and two guide bushes for the bars, also a lengthwise partition (34') screwed at right angles to the sidewall. A joint (35) protrudes from the partition at the mid-point, fitting in a socket (36a) on the back of a mounting plate (36), to which the mirror (37) is fixed at the front. Servo motors (38) for angle adjustment are mounted at one end of the partition, having cams on their shafts working against levers (38c) joined at their other ends to the housing plates.
