The safety device is for woodworking machines. It prevents injury from timber jumping back from the cutters. A grip shoe (6) is used which has saw-tooth spikes ion the bottom. The shoe is inclined at an acute angle with the surface (15) of the work piece (1). The grip shoe is spring loaded (8) with a limiting device (10) which slides in a slot (17). USE/ADVANTAGE - When the work is pushed throught he machine it makes contact with the grip shoe and in the event of a jump-back the spikes grip into the wood.
