Detecting information data from film storage - holding film stationary w.r.t. surroundings and guides opto-electronic scanner parallel to its surface

The process exposes microfilm contents by illuminating the film from one side. The light, passed through is ficked-up by an optical system and displayed on a screen. The film is held stationary w.r.t. to the surroundings, and an opto-electronic scanner in guided parallel to the film surface. The scanner is moved along two non-parallel directions and can by a miniature video camera. Alternately and end of an optical fibre may be used as the scanner. The appts consists of a housing (1), a light source (4), and the film (3) retainer (2), as well as an optical system. ADVANTAGE - Compact design.
