<p>PURPOSE:To realize stable and sure tracking even in the case a narrow-track- recorded signal is reproduced by providing two kinds of heads which precede a reproducing head and have the same azimuth angle as a recording head and scanning simultaneously an adjacent track. CONSTITUTION:A tracking detecting head A3 which precedes the reproducing heads A1, B2, and has the same azimuth angle as the reproducing head A1, and the tracking detecting head B4 which has the same azimuth angle as the inverse azimuth reproducing head B2 to make a pair with the reproducing head A1 are fitted on a rotary upper drum 5 so as to scan the adjacent recording signal track simultaneously. Then, the heads 3, 4 are made to scan two recording tracks adjacent to each other in a form to step over them, and by using the output difference of the respective heads 3, 4 as a tracking error signal, the reproducing heads 1, 2 are made to do tracking. Thus, the stable and sure tracking capable of dealing with a narrow track mode accompanying densification can be realized.</p> |
