The flat seal, especially cylinder head seal (7) for combustion engines has metal insertion rings (1) fixed to the edges of openings (8) and fitting into at least one of the openings (6). The outer periphery (4) of the rings (1) have radially outward-projecting flaps (2, 3). Corresponding to the protuberances (3), the flat seal (7) has cavities (9) round the holes rim (8) so that the rings (1) after turning at an angle are fixed to the flat seal (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - The flat seal has insertion rings which are easily and securely fixed to the sealing plate.
