Locking mechanism for boot lid of private car - is actuated by outward swinging of lid handle

The lid (1) of the boot of a private car is provided with a handle (2). When the lock is released the handle (2) is swung from the locked position (a) to the released position (b) by means of a torsion spring (7). The rotation of the handle (2) actuates push rods inside the boot. These push rods rotate catches so that they are swung clear of locking bolts and release the boot lid so that it can be swung upwards to the open position. When the boot lid is closed the handle (2) is swung inwards and lies flush with the outer surface of the lid. USE - Private car boot lid.
