Rechargeable pocket torch allowing mains recharging - uses contact pins inserted in mains plug after removal of lamp stage

The torch has an energy supply stage (1) and a lamp stage (21), the former having a pair of contact pins (8,9) for insertion in a mains plug socket which are revealed upon removal of the lamp stage (21). The latter has an operating pin (35) which fits through a corresponding opening (36) provided by the energy supply stage (1) in the vicinity of the contact pins (8,9), to provide a contact between one terminal (14) of the battery (5) and one contact pin (9). The other contact pin (8) is permanently coupled to the other battery terminal (6). Pref. the energy supply stage (1) and the lamp stage (21) each have two moulded plastics half shells which are dipped together. ADVANTAGE - Simple recharging from mains plug.
