To the video recorder are supplied clock pulse and synchronising signals of a FBAS signal, scanned from a tape (1), as well as signals for the character or symbol, to be generated from an IC bus (6). For both operating mode, i.e. interval and search, a vertical synchronisation signal (VIC) generated by a processor (3), is added to the FBAS signal.
