Drop out measurement and identification - using synthetic drop out signal to determine effect of noise on drop out rate
摘要
A process used to identify and measure the dropout rate of video, audio or data recorders has the recorder (4) operated in a play back mode to deliver an input to an addition stage (6). The second input to the addition stage is provided by a sinewave generator (8) operating at the required modulator frequency of 4.5 MHz. A signal from a dropout generator (9) modulates the carrier with square wave pulses. The sum of the drop out modulated signals and the noise is applied to a dropout counter (11). ADVANTAGE - Allows for effect of noise on drop out rate.
