The electrical connector for use with solenoids has a moulded insert (14) that is formed with a projection (16) that latches into a recess within the main housing (11). Within the insert are single (36) or double contact elements. The contact elements have projecting lugs that engage with the terminal posts of the solenoid, and these enter through end slots. Each contact element locates within a formed recess and has screws (33) to fix to the ends of the wires of a cable. The cable passes through an aperture in the main housing. ADVANTAGE - Provides flexibility in arrangement for different standards.
