The drive is intended for moving phosphor foil or x-ray film at a constant speed through an arrangement for scanning or exposing these materials, where at least one roller is driven. A friction wheel gear (2) with an output shaft (2a) for each driven roller (1a) is mounted so that each output shaft runs coaxially with its driven roller and the output shaft (2a) and the roller shaft (1b) are connected through an output coupling (5). An input shaft (2b) of the friction wheel gear (2) is fitted coaxially with the shaft (3b) of a drive motor (3) and connected through an input coupling (4) with the drive motor shaft. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple roller arrangement driven by unregulated drive motor that maintains high constancy in speed, for stimulable phosphor foils and/or X-ray film sheets for scanning and/or exposure.
