PURPOSE:To attain high-definition in image quality with small-sized constitution by fixing a breast to an image pickup base, recording/reading/erasing the image to/from a storage phosphor sheet, recording the breast image again and obtaining a subtraction image. CONSTITUTION:Since a breast is fixed onto a pickup base 32 without use of a cassette, the breast is not moved for a long time, the image is recorded, read, erased to/from one storage phosphor sheet 25 while fixing the breast and the image is recorded again and read and subtraction processing is applied between the read signal and a read image signal read at first to obtained a subtraction image. Thus, a breast subtraction image by the 2 shot method with excellent image quality is obtained by a small sized device. Moreover, when the storage phosphor sheet 25 in use in one sheet, then the positioning at recording and at read is simplified and structure noise (noise based on the dispersion of thickness and material, etc.) of the storage phosphor sheet 25 is made constant, then the S/N is improved by subtracting it to easily attain high-definition image quality. |
