发明名称 METHOD FOR MEASURING OXYGEN ACTIVITY IN SLAG, DEVICE THEREOF AND CONSUMPTION TYPE CRUCIBLE USED FOR THIS DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve accuracy by housing a specific metal, the oxygen activity of which balances with the oxygen activity of slag and the slag in an iron crucible and measuring the oxygen activity in the specific metal. CONSTITUTION:The slag S and the specific metal M, such as, for example, copper or silver, which does not form an alloy with iron in an inert atmosphere, hardly forms an oxide and has the sp. gr. larger than the sp. gr. of the slag S are housed in the iron crucible 12. The crucible 12 is then imposed on a supporting base 7 in a reaction tube 1 and an inert gas is injected from a gas injection hole 5 to fill the inside of the tube. A melting furnace is operated to rapidly heat the tube and to melt the slag S an the metal M. A solid electrolyte 13 is lowered after the melting and the front end is immersed into the metal M. An oxygen concn. cell is then formed between a standard electrode with the electrolyte 13 and the metal M in-between and the crucible 12 of a reference electrode. The generated electromotive force is measured by a meter 16. The temps. of the slag S and the metal M are measured by a temp. element 8 and is indicated on a meter 11. The oxygen activity in the metal M is calculated by the arithmetic processing based on these two values. Since this oxygen activity balances with the oxygen activity in the slag, the oxygen activity in the slag is measured with high accuracy.
