Process for the preparation of electrically conductive polymers based on polythiophenes by chemical polymerisation of thiophenes by means of a ferric salt, an alkyl halide and water. The invention also relates to the electroconductive devices containing the polythiophenes obtained and a thermoplastic polymer.
