The fireproof door is of the sliding type with automatic gravity closing. This door consists of a frame (1) associated with a leaf (2) mounted on a carrying structure (3). The leaf (2) is equipped with means for retaining in the open position and with means for releasing said retaining means in response to a particular event, for example the detection of a fire, so as to bring about the automatic closing of said leaf. The sliding door also comprises means (6) for braking and damping the leaf (2), in the form of a pneumatic jack (7) with leakage controlled by an adjustable flow reducer (20). The rod (13) of the jack (7) interacts with a stop (14) so as to obtain the damping at the end of travel of the leaf. The stop (14) in particular and preferably all the accessories are mounted, without any modification to the structure of the door, by means of clevis-shaped members (19) secured by gripping by means of locking screws.
