<p>A dynamic image data encoder which band-compresses the dynamic image data comprises intraframe encoder circuits (20, 18) which encode the dynamic image data in the frame to band-compress them, interframe encoder circuits (20, 16) which encode the dynamic image data between the frames to band-compress them, a block dividing circuit (12) that divides the data of each of the frames into a plurality of blocks (G11, G12, G13, ..., G21, G22, G23, ...) each containing a predetermined number of pixels, and an encode switching circuit (19) which so switches the encode treatment that dynamic image data of predetermined pixels are encoded by said intraframe encoding means (20, 18) in each of said plurality of blocks and that dynamic image data of the remaining pixels are encoded by said interframe encoding means (20, 16). A dynamic image data decoder which decodes the band-compressed dynamic image data comprises interframe decoder circuits (34, 35) that decode the dynamic image data band-compressed by the interframe encoding, intraframe decoder circuits (34, 36) for decoding the dynamic image data band-compressed by the intraframe encoding, and a decode switching circuit (37) which so switches the decode treatment that the dynamic image data are decoded by said interframe decoder circuit (34, 35) during the timing for inputting the dynamic image data band-compressed by the interframe encoding and that the dynamic image data are decoded by said intraframe decoder circuit (34, 36) at the timing for inputting the dynamic image data band-compressed by said intraframe encoding.</p> |
