PURPOSE:To grind both sides of a cutter in one process by grinding a cutter while moving a grinding stone in the length and width direction rotatably against the cutter through numerical control. CONSTITUTION:The ground form of a cutter 11 is memorized in a numerical control device, and the grinding face of a grinding stone is moved while rotationally moving around an original point P inside a decided distance (l) from the grinding face of the stone, and while maintaining the distance between the grinding face of the cutter 11 and the original point P and the distance between a grinding stone dresser 24 and the original point P. Hereby, both sides of the cutter 11 can be ground in one travel and the grinding stone can be effectively utilized. |
