Adhesively securing slates

A roof structure comprises overlapping members e.g. slates 10 which have a slot or recess 16 formed in a lower edge thereof into which adhesive is applied to bond the members to those which it overlaps. The recesses 16 may be formed in situ. Some slates are additionally nailed direct to rafters to prevent lifting of the slates by wind.
