SUPPORT CATALYST FOR DECOMPOSITION OF OZONE, METHOD OF ITS MANUFACTURE AND METHOD FOR CATALYTIC CRACKING OF OZONE

摘要

PURPOSE: To obtain a catalyst which is active in an environmental temp. and can be easily handled by using a foamed org. polymer having open pores coated with a catalytically active component as a support of the catalyst for ozone decomposition. CONSTITUTION: A foamed org. polymer having open pores such as a polyurethane coated with a catalytically active component of platinum metals such as Pt or a metal oxide such as manganese oxide is used as a support of the catalyst for ozone decomposition. The obtd. catalyst decomposes ozone antained in gas at about <=50 deg.C. The catalyst is active in an environmental temp. so that the catalytically active component can be economically used. The catalyst is extremely light in weight and is easily handled because it can be in-situ cut.
