PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst excellent in desulfurization activity, denitrification activity and cracking activity by mixing a plurality of composite oxides of metals belonging to the Groups IIIB, IVA, B, VB and hydrated aluminum oxide and molding the resulting mixture to dry the same. CONSTITUTION:The composition of a catalyst carrier is composed of plural composite oxide consisting of oxides of two or more kinds of elements belonging to the Groups IIIB (excepting Al), IVA, B, V of the Periodic Table and alumina and, as especially pref. elements, there are B, Ti, Zr, Hf or the like. This plural composite oxide is mixed and molded to be dried. The catalyst thus obtained shows excellent desulfurization activity, denitrification activity and cracking activity in the hydrotreating of hydrocarbon oil, especially, vacuum light oil, light oil or kerosene. |
