<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a non-linear resistor with improved current characteristic by applying a phosphoric acid-containing liquid which is obtained by adding a fire-resistance filling agent to a specified amount of magnesium and phosphor, aluminum and phosphor, or aluminum, silicon, and phosphor to the side surface of a sintered body. CONSTITUTION:When a phosphoric acid liquid containing a magnesium of 30-mol% and a phosphor of 10-60mol% when converted into MgO and P2O5, respectively, and a 10mol% or less at least one type out of Fe2O3, MnO, Cr2O3, and ZrO2 is applied to the side surface of a sintered body 1, the magnesia quality and phosphoric acid within liquid form Mg3(PO4)2 and this Mg3(PO4)2 is coupled three-dimensionally, thus forming a high-resistance layer 2. Also, Fe2O3, MnO, Cr2O3, and ZrO2 are stably taken into the three-dimensional structure of Mg3(PO4)2. Then, this reaction proceeds at relatively a low temperature so that the temperature difference within and outside the sintered body becomes small, thus preventing cracks from occurring easily and improving current characteristic.</p> |
