PURPOSE: To reduce the operation time and lessen the fear of boring a hole in a blood vessel by inhibiting the motion between a guide catheter and a guide wire in the case of providing a mechanism for selectively gripping a guide catheter or a guide wire to replace the catheter. CONSTITUTION: An expansion balloon 28 is inserted in a lumen 18 along a guide wire 14 to reach a morbid region, and the expansion balloon is expanded to expand the morbid region, then the expansion balloon 28 is contracted to pull out a balloon catheter. Next an expansion device such as an injector or the like is connected to a lure communicated with the base end of the expansion lumen 22, and when a gripping mechanism is operated, the gripped balloon 28 has the guide wire 14 pressed to an opposite wall of the expansion lumen 18 to be constrained, and the frictional gripping state between the balloon 28 and the guide wire 14 puts the guide wire 14 in the immobile state, so that the balloon catheter can be removed completely. Thus, the blood vesssel can be prevented from being bored. |
