PURPOSE:To enlarge a reproducing output and to improve a recording property by forming the axis of easy magnetization orthogonally with the magnetic path direction of a magnetic head and rotating the direction of the axis of easy magnetization by an anisotropic magnetic field reduction processing for one of upper and lower magnetic cores at least. CONSTITUTION:A lower magnetic core 1 is laminated on a ceramic base 8, an organic insulating layer 4 is laminated on the lower magnetic core 1 and an upper magnetic core 2 is laminated on the layer 4. The upper and lower magnetic cores 2 and 1 are joined at one end and at the other end of the both cores 2 and 1, a magnetic gap 3 is formed. In the joining part of the both cores 2 and 1, a coil 6 is formed to be wound around plural times. One of the both cores 2 and 1 at least is formed by a non-crystalline material including more than 80at% Co or a crystalline material including more than 20at% Co, and the axis of easy magnetization is made orthogonal to the magnetic path direction of the magnetic head. Concerning the thermal history of this thin film magnetic head, by leaving it in non-magnetic field at about 200 deg.C for about two hours, an output decrease rate is made less than 10% in comparison before left standing. |
