PURPOSE:To obtain the title drink having high iron absorption properties in body, maintaining physiological function of lactoferrin by heating and sterilizing an aqueous solution containing both an iron agent and lactoferrin under a condition of a specific ionic strength. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution containing lactoferrin, an iron agent and sodium hydrogencarbonate dissolved therein or an aqueous solution containing iron lactoferrin dissolved therein is adjusted to an ionic strength shown by the formula (with the proviso that T is heating and sterilizing temperature ( deg.C) and 60<=T<=80), logI<=-1.3 (T>=80) and cooled. On the other hand, a solution of drink raw materials is heated and sterilized, then cooled and both the solutions are mixed to give the objective drink. Concentration of lactoferrin in the drink is preferably 0.1-6g/100ml and the concentration of iron agent is preferably 0.15-12.0mg/100ml calculated as iron. |
