PURPOSE:To reflect the intention of a player greatly and to automatically generate a rhythm pattern sequence by generating connections between input patterns and output patterns by previously learning so that an output pattern that the player desires is generated in response to an input patterns. CONSTITUTION:The input patterns consisting of >=1 pieces of input information 102 which is obtained at each play timing point and indicates the sound generation state of a musical sound and output patterns prescribing >=1 piece of output information 103 in response to them are stored in pairs as basic combinations by the learning and training of a network so that an input/output pattern connecting means 101 composed of the network connects the patterns. Consequently, the player need not consider all pairs of input patterns and output patterns responding to the input patterns and given only a basic pair of input and output patterns to the input/output pattern connecting means 101. Consequently, the intention of the player is reflected and the rhythm pattern sequence is automatically generated.
