PURPOSE:To obtain a product, which is highly rigid and deformation-free and, at the same time, reinforced throughout the whole molded item including ribs, boss parts and the like, by a method wherein the manufacture concerned is the combination of fibrous sheet method and fiber dispersion method. CONSTITUTION:In closed or un-closed molds 1 and 2, a plurality of porous fibrous sheets 3 and 4 are placed so as to supply molten thermoplastic resin (molten resin) 5, in which fibers are dispersed as reinforcing material, between the fibrous sheet layers 3 and 4. After that, by spreading the molten resin 5 to the surfaces of both side outmost porous fibrous sheet layers 3 and 4 through the gaps in the fibrous sheets 3 and 4 by means of resin feeding pressure and/or pressing pressure, a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin molded item is produced. As the thermoplastic resin used, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene or the like is exampled. As the material of the porous fibrous sheets 3 and 4 inorganic fiber such as lass fiber, carbon fiber, stainless steel fiber or the like, organic fiber such as polyamide fiber, polyester fiber, aramid fiber or the like and mixture of said inorganic and organic fibers can be employed. Thus, a product, the mechanical strength of which is high and the production cost of which is low, can be obtained. |
