PURPOSE: To improve an image clarity by exhibiting an internal contact angle of at least 120 deg. at a liquid droplet of a water-ethyleneglycol-n-methyl-pyrrolidone adhered onto a surface of an absorbent layer separate from a base material. CONSTITUTION: A surface of an absorbent layer separate from a base layer exhibits an internal contact angle of at least 120 deg. at a liquid droplet of a water- ethyleneglycol-n-methyl-pyrrolidone (75:20:5 by weight) adhered onto the surface. That is, the surface of the absorbent layer is treated by using a modifying medium. Thus, the contact angle is increased at least to 120 deg. to the surface of an absorbent, and hence a speedy swelling trend of an applying aqueous ink medium is reduced while holding a rapid absorbing characteristics of an absorbent matrix. Accordingly, an initial spread of individual applying droplets on the surface of the absorbent is limited, and a redistribution of the droplets which is not controlled can be brought about under the influence of a surface tension. Thus, an image clarity can be improved. |
