PURPOSE:To prevent wasteful consumption of paper and save extra labor by providing a system by which the generation of a paper jam is judged based on outputs from a printing check device and a paper feed device and interrupting printing action of a printer based on the output therefrom when the jam generates. CONSTITUTION:If a printer starts printing, a printing process state is checked by a printing check device 1 and at the same time, a paper feed state is checked by a paper feed check device 2. In this case, if printing process check results are normal but paper feed check results are abnormal, a jam detection output is issued by a jam generation interruption device 3 and then is sent to a printing suspension device for suspending printing. When both printing process check results and paper feed check results are normal, a jam generation judging device 3 judges that no jam has generated and allows printing action to continue until the end of printing is confirmed. Thus wasteful consumption of paper due to a paper jam and unnecessary spending of time for reprinting can be prevented. |
