PURPOSE: To provide a compact coupling dispensing with reconstruction by interposing a coupling member radially expanded by supply of a pressure fluid, between first and second parts so as to apply larger coupling force to the first part, and allowing rotation between the coupling member and the second part. CONSTITUTION: A coupling 10 couples an axle-type first part 11 to a hub-type second part 12. A coupling member 15 has a pressure medium chamber 16 partitioned radially inward and outward by sleeve parts 17, 18. When a pressure medium such as oil is fed, the sleeve parts 17, 18 expand to connect the first and second parts 11, 12. The sleeve part 17 is thick-walled, and its coupling force to the hub (second part) 12 is smaller than its coupling force to the axle (first part) 11. When a pressure relief device comprising a corrugated pipe 25, a ring 26 and an arm 27 is triggered, the coupling 10 is freely rotated on the axle 11. After a slip caused by high torque in a short period, the hub is rigidly fixed to the coupling member 15. The compact coupling dispensing with reconstruction is thus obtained. |
