<p>PURPOSE: To facilitate insertion of a smaller-diameter pipe by constituting a connection device for pipes with different diameters of sleeve having wings and cuttings so that it has a raised portion and holds the smaller-diameter pipe in its center when the smaller-diameter pipe is inserted into the connection device. CONSTITUTION: In a connection device for pipes with different diameters that comprises a sleeve 2 having flexible wings 4 for locking outer and inner surfaces of two pipes 8, 11 and cuttings 3 adapted to create the wings, the sleeve 2 has raised portions 12 having a thickness substantially equal to the height of narrowing shoulders 6 inside the wings 4. The raised portions 12 keep the smaller-diameter pipe 11 inside the connection during insertion, so that the end of the smaller-diameter pipe 11 does not jam against the shoulders 6 to facilitate the insertion of the smaller-diameter pipe 11. As a result, there is no loss in stability of the pipe connection, sealing performance of the connection, and in manufacturing cost.</p> |
