PURPOSE:To enable differential limitation with a frictional force by providing a cam means between members making relative motion in rotational direction during differential rotation for generating an engaging thrust force to tighten a frictional clutch and an operating means for operatively engaging and disengaging the cam means. CONSTITUTION:When a differential case 49 is rotated by a drive force from an engine, the rotation is transmitted to left and right side gears 71, 73 through pressure rings 59, 61, a cam 67, pinion shaft 63 and pinion gear 69 to rotate left and right rear wheels. When any difference between the rotation of the left and right rear wheels is generated, the gears 71, 73 are subjected to the differential rotation by the rotation of the gear 69 about its own axis so that the rotation from the engine is deferentially distributed to the left and right rear wheels. Then, the rings 59, 61 tighter multiple disk clutches 83, 85 by a retreating force of the gears 71, 73 due to a thrust force from the cam 67 and a thrust force of engagement with the gear 69. The differential motion between the left and right rear wheels is limited by the tightening force so that large torque is transmitted also to the rear wheel side having large rotary resistance.
